My aunt's visiting from Canada, so in the evening we got invited to a 4th of July party at our friends' place. Being dorks, we chose red, white and blue outfits! ^__^ I was thrilled to see others at the party wearing these hues too. It's one of my favorite color combos: simple, cheerful and versatile. You can build a whole wardrobe on them. I'm going to try and incorporate more red, white and blue into my clothes, year-round.
In the meantime, this is what we wore to the party:
My mother chose casual-chic separates:

Jeans: 1969 classic bootcut, Gap
Sandals: Hang Ten
I wore a festive bandana-print wrap skirt, one of my favorites:

Top: CL Carole Little
Skirt: Lucky Brand
Sandals: Jeffrey Campbell
Although I wore tie-up sandals with this outfit, I think next time I'm going to try a regular pair just to see how it looks. Otherwise, I love the look and comfort of this skirt!
Hope you all had a wonderful Fourth filled with fun and fireworks!

I love the skirt. It works the red/white/blue color pallete in a very chic way. I hope you had a nice time! XOXO, MissAmy
Thanks Amy!
The best I get for my birthday is the occasional Ash Wednesday.
That skirt is so fun!
LOVE your skirt! We got all dorky and wore red, white, and blue too :D
Thanks Diana and Missa! It's one of my favorite skirts ... got it on eBay a couple of years ago, and I just saw new listings for the same skirt the other day. I love Lucky brand wrap skirts for their beautiful designs.
Hi there-lovely outfits, hope you all had a great time too!
Hi Sharon! It was indeed a great day.
Even the weather was nice, which is unusual for this time of year. :o)
OMG I want that skirt, so beautiful!
Thanks BC! I just saw it up for auction on eBay last week. It shows up there from time to time. I think it's really worth bidding on.
