Here are the links. Enjoy!
1) UK journalist Hannah Pool, of The Gurardian newspaper, writes about the big "tribal" trends of the Spring season, and whether they are patronizing and demeaning to real cultures, tribes and ethnic traditions around the world.
2) Julie Greene of the Recessionwire blog offers some innovative and very cool tips on what to do with the "misfit" clothes in your closet!
3) In MediaBistro, Diane Clehane interviews the fabulous Isaac Mizrahi! This is one of the most detailed and interesting Isaac interviews I've come across, and goodness knows I love anything Isaac! ^__^
4) Virginia M. Moncrieff writes an outstanding article in the Huffington Post about the preference for "fairer" (i.e., lighter) skin tones among the women of South Asia, and how they will buy all kinds of beauty products to "lighten" their skin because a fairer complexion is considered more beautiful and desirable in a woman. This is something close to my heart because I am a South Asian woman, and the preference for lighter skin in my part of the world has always both baffled and bothered me deeply. I also know that this mindset can be found in other cultures and ethnic groups, as well, so I think this is a particularly important read.
5) Karin Tanabe writes an interesting article in the Huffington Post on how First Lady Michelle Obama's preference for flats has influenced Washington D.C. style.
These are really some of the best articles on style I've come across in a while, and I hope you get as much out of them as I did!

Hi there-thanks for sharing those links my dear and hope you have a fabulous week too!
You're welcome Sharon! :o)
cool-off to read #3 esp. since I am writing a post on him soon!
Yay! I just adore that man ... wish his show on the Style network was still on. It was one of my all-time favorites.
Okay the Recessionwire article is something I have got to print out and read. Reading on the computer is getting very hard on my eyesight. I need those tips because I have a lot of stuff. A lot of misfit stuff and I need to figure out how to work them in with the pieces I wear all the time.
Yeah, I hear you ... I'm trying to cut back on sitting in front of the computer for this very same reason, esp. since I have terrible eyesight to begin with!
I hope the article is useful! Some of her tips were a bit out there, but others were really unique and cool.
sounds like interesting read.
I thought they were ... it's hard to find articles on style and appearance that are also thoughtful and serious, and I thought since fashion writing is mostly just fun and about clothes, these might be interesting to read. I particularly loved the Isaac Mizrahi interview.
Ooooh, I love thougt provoking ideas on style, thanks for sharing these...I'm very interested in #1, it really reminds one to be careful and not blatently rip off a culturarl tone or flavor without truly understanding it's origin.
Great reads for sure!
Thanks! I hope you enjoy them as much as I did! :o)
