SKINNYFLARE! SUPERFLY!!

One of my favorite jeans silhouettes is the "skinny flare", which is a style that's tighter on the hip and thigh but flares out from the knee, with a shorter inseam so that you can wear them with flats. The only place I've been able to find these is Topshop in London, and I brought back several pairs from there a couple of years ago, but today I found a pair at -- of all places -- Target!

Except they aren't really supposed to be skinny flares. They're obviously a "mistake" pair whose inseam was shorter than all the others on the rack. An accident for the manufacturer, but perfect for moi! This is the actual style:

The Mossimo Supply Co. "superflare". The regular ones look more bootcut, but on my mistake pair the flair is more pronounced ... and fabulous!

They're supposed to look a bit like the way Kate Moss is wearing them here:

Tight through the hip/thigh and then flared ... kind of a borderline '60s-'70s vibe, which I love!

This photo best shows the effect I like and aim for with this style, only with lower heels and of course no high waist:

I adore skinny flares! More so than pretty much any other denim style. Hope they'll stay around for a long time.

Thanks! I think they're a good variation for flared pants, kind of a different, quirky look (I'm not a fan of bootcuts).

I like those too-I agree with you about wanting more jeans that are shorter to wear with my flats which I do alot!

Thanks, I totally agree. And shorter inseam jeans have been super difficult to find, for me. Gap and Old Navy ones don't look good on me, so this is a big problem. I hold on to the ones I do find till they're all ripped and torn!
